A Long Journey & An Important Announcement
Not a lot of people know that when I founded my business in May of 2014 that I did so under less than ideal circumstances.
I was in the thick of trying to overcome chronic debilitating medical conditions enough to be able to work again—just part time—after not having been able to work for six years, I was a single parent and primary caregiver to a seven-year-old child with a “dysregulated nervous system,” and I had no family or close friends nearby to help me ...
My day-to-day life was a struggle, to say the least, but I was determined to become an entrepreneur and succeed—even if it meant doing so in an environment that wasn’t conducive to succeeding.
Looking back, I don’t know how exactly I made it to where I am at today (or how my son made it to where he is at). All that I know is that it wasn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination.
Now that my son is 18 years old and has started the first chapter of his adult life, I feel like I finally have time to not just run my business but to further develop and grow it.
Earlier this year, I joined the LinkedIn community, optimized my LinkedIn profile, and began making meaningful connections both on and off the platform, and last month, I started creating content and sharing it on the platform weekly.
Now that I am active on LinkedIn, I would like to write my shared content for more well-defined audiences. Thus, I have decided to write the content that I share in my monthly The Art of Writing newsletters for parents of elementary school through college students and write the content that I share on LinkedIn for business professionals in fields related to mine and people who want to improve their written business communication skills (I will be launching a “Write with Confidence” writing lesson series on LinkedIn very soon!).
That said, I am transitioning my “Test Your Editing Skills” and “Improve Your Personal and/or Business Communication Skills” lessons from The Art of Writing to LinkedIn, so be sure to follow me there so that you can continue to receive those lessons and consistently write with complete confidence.
Thank you so much for supporting me on this nearly 12-year-long journey; your ongoing support has been both a positive distraction and a tremendous source of motivation.
With gratitude,
~ Christina Caputo
